BAKKIE COMPETITION

– TERMS AND CONDITIONS –

  1. INTRODUCTION

These terms and conditions apply to LAERSKOOL BRITS AND BRITS FORD BAKKIE COMPETITION (“the Giveaway”) more fully described below.

  1. KEY WORDS AND DEFINITIONS

The following words shall have the meaning given below.

“Accountant” the accountants, appointed to oversee the Giveaway by the Laerskool Brits and Brits Ford Competition being:

“Announcement

Date”  the 27th of November 2025;

“Closing Date” means the 21th of November 2025;

“Draw Date” 24th of November 2025; the draw date for the Raffle will be held on 24 November 2025.  However, if (for any reason) not all Raffle tickets are sold by the “Closing Date“, the draw for the Raffle may be postponed to a later date to be advised by Brits Ford and Brits Primary School on the website where these terms and conditions will be posted.

“Draw” means the lucky (randomized) draw from the list of Participants to determine the single Participant that will be eligible for the Prize as further described below;

“Participants” all the purchasers of raffle tickets as on the Closing Date (21 November 2025) of the Laerskool Brits and Brits Ford competition;

“Brits Primary School”  Laerskool Brits is a public school and juristic person in terms of Section 15 of the South African Schools Act 84 of 1996 and the co-promotor of the Giveaway;

“Brits Ford” is a private company situated at 1 Hendrik Verwoerd Avenue Brits, with registration number 2018/41321/07 and the co-promotor of the Giveaway      

“Start Date”  the date whereupon the Giveaway was announced being the 07th of March 2025;

“Rules” these terms and conditions;

“The Giveaway” the random draw to be held in accordance with the Rules in terms whereof a Participant will win the Prize;

“The Prize”  means the WHITE FORD RANGER – XL Double Cab 2l Manual year model 2025 supplied by Brits Ford, situated at 2 Hendrik Verwoerd Avenue Brits with the following warranties and service plans; 6 year / 90,000km service plan, 4 year / 120,000 km warranty and roadside assistance of 4 years;

“The Winner”    the Participant who won the Giveaway as determined by the Draw.

  1. The Giveaway relates to the Prize (FORD RANGER) as described above.
  2. The Prize is supplied by Brits Ford, situated at 1 Hendrik Verwoerd Avenue Brits.
  3. Requirements for participation in the Giveaway.
    • Only purchasers of the raffle tickets as sold are entitled to be included in the Draw;
    • Only purchasers of the raffle tickets will be eligible for the Prize as at the Closing date and will be included in the draw;
    • Only natural persons (people) can qualify as purchasers;

  • How Giveaway winner will be determined.
    • As at the Closing Date the Accountant will determine the list of numbers of all the purchasers who qualify to form part of the Draw;
    • The Prize in the Giveaway will not be awarded to any person from Brits Primary School and Brits Ford who is directly involved with the presentation and administration of the Giveaway.;
    • Each purchaser from the list of purchasers, as aforesaid, will be assigned a single unique, sequential, number by the following Domain lsbritsraffle.co.za ;
    • One number (correlating to the winning Participant) will be determined by means of a random number generator (RNG) being a computer program designed to, on random, pick a number, from the numbers assigned to the Participants, as above;
    • The RNG program used will be in the discretion of the Accountant;
    • The Participant so selected, shall win the Prize;
    • The Draw will take place at Brits Primary School on the 24th November in front of the whole school during School opening and the results will be recorded.
    • If it transpires that the winner is disqualified from receiving the prize, a new Winner shall be determined.
    • Should a participant accept the prize and it only becomes apparent afterwards that the participant  was disqualified, the winner shall return the Prize.
    • A winner shall be disqualified, if the winner violated these rules or if it transpires that the winner has in some manner gained an unfair advantage in the Draw.
  • Announcement of result
    • The Winner will be contacted telephonically and my email on the Draw Date and be informed of the result. With consent of the Winner a video will be taken and posted at the time of actual handover of the Prize.
    • The name and town of the winner will with consent of the Winner be announced, on the Announcement Date.

  1. Receipt of the Prize
    • The Winner of the Prize shall be entitled to collect the Prize from Brits Ford at the following address 1 Hendrik Verwoerd Avenue Brits, on prior notice and from Monday to Friday between 09h00 until 16h00 and excluding public holidays.
    • Brits Ford will provide the required documents to register the Prize into the name of the Winner at the Department of Roads and Transport, Madibeng and pay for the costs of registration thereof in the name of the Winner (but not the costs of any fines in the name of the Winner);
    • The Winner will become eligible for the Prize, subject to the Rules, and upon completion of the Draw and determination of the Winner;
    • Risk of loss or damage to the Prize will vest in the Winner on collection of it by the Prize.
    • Brits Ford reserves the right to require the full proof of identification (identity number), work, email and residential address of the Winner, before release of the Prize;
    • The Winner shall be required to make arrangements for and collect the Prize within 30 (thirty) calendar days of the Draw Date.
    • If the Winner fails to accept and collect the Prize within 30 (thirty) calendar days of the Draw Date, or to make arrangements for same to the reasonable satisfaction of Laerskool Brits and Brits Ford the Prize shall be forfeited and a new Winner shall be determined by means of a new draw to be conducted on the same basis as the first draw read with the necessary changes in context.
    • The prize may not be exchanged for cash and are non-negotiable, non- transferable and non-refundable.
  2. No warrantees are provided
    • Other than for the warrantees provided by the manufacturer of the Prize (See: ‘the prize’ for warrantee and service agreement ), no other warrantees are provided by Brits Ford in respect to the Prize.
    • Brits Ford will provide the Prize and the Winner will accept all risk of damage, loss maintenance and repair in respect of the Prize from the delivery date.
  3. Indemnity

The Winner, by accepting the Prize, indemnifies (releases from and agrees to protect against) and undertakes to keep indemnified, Brits Ford and Brits Primary School (as well as its directors, advisors, employees and representatives) in respect of the Prize, its use and operation. Brits Ford and Brits Primary School (as well as its directors, advisors, employees and representatives) will not be liable for any accident, injury, damage, harm loss or loss of life that the Winner or any person who uses the Prize may suffer or that any person may suffer resulting from the use of the Prize.

 

  1. General conditions
    • Brits Ford and Brits Primary School shall not be liable for any disruption to the Giveaway, whether due to technical problems or otherwise, which is beyond its reasonable control. If there is any disruption to the Giveaway Brits Ford and Brits Primary School shall use its reasonable endeavours to remedy any disruption and resume the Giveaway in a fair manner and in due course.
    • Brits Ford and Brits Primary School will not be responsible for any failure or inability of a Participant (purchaser of a raffle ticket) to: due to interruption, error, delay in operation or transmission, communications failure, website failure, or inability to process a raffle ticket purchase.
    • The laws of the Republic of South Africa will apply to the Giveaway.
